We would like to introduce you to our newest therapist, Jan Pugh!
Jan’s Training
Jan is a Registered Provisional Psychologist. Prior to completing her Masters in Counselling Psychology, Jan had a 25 year career as a nurse, so she brings a wealth of knowledge of health and wellness to her practice as a Psychologist. She has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Gottman Method for couples counselling.
Jan’s Areas of Expertise and Interest
Jan works with adolescents, adults, and couples in Alberta and Nunavut. She focuses on supporting folks dealing with anxiety, depressing, trauma, eating disorders, grief, and relationship challenges. She loves learning and continues to pursue training in these areas to best support her clients. She also brings her own experiences with grief and loss, relationships, parenting, and life transitions to her understanding of and passion for these issues.
Jan’s Approach
Jan’s goal is to create an environment for her clients to feel safe, supported, and understood. She recognizes that each person she meets has unique life experiences and needs and aims to tailor her approach to each person’s needs. She respects and values diversity and welcomes all expression of race and ethnicity, religion, and gender and sexual identity. She is also a Health at Every Size (HAES) aligned and body inclusive therapist.
