Connect. Grow. Transform.

Calgary counselling and online therapy

We Start with Understanding

At Monarch Psychology, we offer therapy that looks beyond symptoms to understand your story and what’s underneath. Healing begins with being seen and understood.

Our psychologists and social workers provide compassionate, evidence-based care for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, and more—in-person in Calgary or online across Alberta.

Not Sure Who to Choose? Start With a Therapist Match Consultation

If you’re unsure who to work with, you can book a Therapist Matching Consultation, where our director speaks with you directly. We’ll talk about what you’re looking for and help match you with the therapist best suited to your needs and preferences.

Our Treatment Approach

We provide evidence-based therapy that looks beyond surface-level symptoms to identify and treat what’s really driving your struggle. Our team is trained across a range of modalities, including CBT, ACT, EMDR, and somatic approaches, so your therapist can draw on the right tools for your story, not a single method. With in-house specialization in trauma, perinatal concerns, eating concerns, anxiety, grief, and more, we’re equipped to support complex, overlapping needs under one roof.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if counselling is right for me?
Counselling can help if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or unsure how to move forward, even if you’re not experiencing a major crisis. Many people come to therapy for stress, anxiety, relationship issues, burnout, life transitions, or to improve self-understanding and coping skills.
Yes. We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can ask questions and get a feel for whether we’re the right fit. This is not a therapy session; it’s a brief conversation to help you decide next steps with confidence.
That’s very common. If you’re unsure who to work with, you can book a Therapist Matching Consultation. We’ll talk about what you’re looking for and help match you with the therapist best suited to your needs and preferences.
Your first session is a chance for your therapist to understand what brings you in, what you’ve been dealing with, and what hopes you have for counselling. You’ll also talk about what support feels most helpful for you. Together, you’ll create a plan for therapy moving forward at a pace that feels comfortable.
If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room or urgent care centre. Counselling is not an emergency service. If you need crisis support, we encourage you to contact a local crisis line or emergency services. See our resources page for more information.
